The U.S. Geological Survey says two smaller earthquakes were also recorded inside the boundary of Yellowstone National Park in recent days.</p><p>Temblors of 4.2 and 3.6 magnitude were recorded in the Lava Hot Springs area. That's according to the federal government's annual gray wolf tally, released Friday. The count has also revealed the initial effect of a controversial wolf hunting season in Idaho.</p><p>In the 2011-12 season, Idaho hunters and trappers killed nearly 400 wolves. Yet the population count decreased by just 63 animals, or 11 percent. David Allen heads the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. Many of them have used a suction dredge to extract the precious metal from the gravel and silt on the river bottom.
