Dave Fotsch is the Director of Boise GreenBike, a bike share system for downtown Boise and Boise State University (www.Boise.GreenBike.com.) Dave’s diverse background includes many years in media, public relations, education and bicycling. Radio has been a big part of his life since childhood when he’d listen at night to far away AM stations on his transistor radio. This interest eventually led to a career in radio journalism in his native Wisconsin and in Idaho, where Dave arrived in 1991 to pursue a graduate degree in education at Boise State University while anchoring Morning Edition at Boise State Radio. He briefly taught junior high before returning to the media as a television assignment editor, weather anchor and reporter.
Dave leveraged his media experience into a new career in public relations at the American Red Cross of Greater Idaho and the Central District Health Department, before creating the Boise GreenBike program that launched in April of 2015.
Outside of work Dave can be found on one of his many bikes, skiing, camping and gardening. Dave and his wife Stephanie McCurdy live in Boise and are proud parents to a pair of cats and a dog.
