Mitzi grew up on a wheat farm in the Palouse region of Idaho, graduated from the University of Idaho, and has lived and worked in southern Idaho all her adult life. She remains in awe of her native state’s diversity and beauty, and is passionate about “all things Idaho.” And she was pleased to discover she has experienced most of the recommendations on the “Idaho Bucket List: 75 Things All Idahoans Should Try (At Least Once)” , compiled by Boise State Public Radio a couple of years ago.
For nearly 20 years, Mitzi worked in management positions at Healthwise, a global provider of consumer health information headquartered in Boise. As a team leader and later as a senior executive, Mitzi helped further the company’s mission of providing information to help people take a more active role in their health. Now, as a member of the Community Advisory Group, she supports Boise State Public Radio to provide information that helps listeners to become more aware of issues in their local and national communities.
Mitzi loves KBSX for its extensive reporting of Idaho issues – especially hearing those topics that commercial news outlets do not cover - because it helps inform and engage the public in ways that only public radio can. Her other interests include spending as much time as possible in Idaho’s great outdoors, where she enjoys backpacking, bicycling, cross-country skiing and other pursuits.
