Last month, we asked you to join us in welcoming two of our newest Boise State Public Radio team members. Sadly, we're asking you to do the opposite this month as we bid farewell to our News Director and former Morning Edition Host, Scott Graf. His last day with the station was Thursday, November 17.
Scott came to us from WFAE in Charlotte, N.C. in 2012. Since then, he has made his mark in Idaho, both professionally and personally. Though we'll miss working with him, we wish him the best of luck in his new endeavor. Before packing up his things, Scott sat down to write this:
As some of you may know, my time at Boise State Public Radio is nearing an end. This fall, I accepted a communications position with Idaho Attorney General Lawrence Wasden. I begin my new role November 21. It's a great opportunity for me personally and professionally to go work for a public official I've come to respect tremendously.
I joined BSPR in April 2012 as Morning Edition Host/Senior Editor. Since then, I've met many of you at various station functions and community events. I've interacted with some of you over the phone, others via email and a few in social media. I've always appreciated your input and support and have been humbled by the role you've let our radio station play in your lives. The duty of delivering to you thoughtful, responsible and accurate local journalism is a role I've taken seriously. I've always considered working for public radio audience demanding yet incredibly satisfying. I hope I've met your expectations.
Thank you for letting me work for you. I will soon serve the state in a different way, but look forward to continuing my life in Idaho. This is an amazing place we get to call home.
I'll still be listening and rooting for BSPR. And I'm looking forward to crossing paths with you again soon.
Once more: a sincere thanks.
