Due to slowness and system errors in their computer system, The Idaho Transportation Department has closed driver’s licensing offices across the state, with the exception of Ada and Canyon counties.

Technicians are working to determine the root cause of the issues but until a solution is in place, there is no estimated timeframe for the closures.

ITD has asked Ada and Canyon county customers to put off renewing their licenses today. Although open, these offices are enduring long wait times.

“We apologize for the inconvenience and ask for the public’s patience as we work towards finding a solution,” said DMV Administrator Alberto Gonzalez.

Registration and titling services are still open across Idaho.
