The Twin Falls City Council will meet tonight and revisit the issue of planning a jump over the Snake River Canyon. It's the first meeting for the group since council members last week voted to deny access to city-owned land to a Texas stunt-man the city has been negotiating with for months. The council had concerns over Ed Beckley's proposed safety plan.
The Twin Falls Times-News reports council members may ask Beckley to re-do that part of his plan, or move on to others who are interested in the jump. The council could also decide that a jump would not be in the city's best interests, and choose to scrap the idea altogether.
There's renewed interest in jumping the canyon this year because it marks the 40th anniversary of Evel Knievel's jump attempt.
Monday's city council meeting starts at 5:00 p.m.
