Your Guide To The Best Treasure Valley Christmas Lights

Dec 23, 2015

Whether your style is ostentatious and bold like Clark Griswold or more subtle-yet-savvy like Snoopy, there's a Christmas lighting display out there for everyone. And thanks to a crowd-sourced Google map on Reddit, you and your family can cruise around town looking at dozens of dazzling houses.

The map was posted on Reddit a couple of weeks ago, which is marked fittingly with green tree icons. If there's a house you think should be on the map, there's still time to send in your submission (the person compiling this list is apparently a Seinfeld fan: no.soop.for.yoo@gmail.com).

Lighting displays are mostly found in Boise, but Caldwell, Nampa and Kuna are also represented. One promising house in Caldwell is Peanuts themed.

The map also has a legend that describes some of the displays, like this one: with a "vintage/traditional" show with "8 lighted soldiers in the windows, trimmed with white and red lights...looks like a Christmas scene from a postcard."

Another house in Boise boasts a 20 foot tree that plays animation and "singing Christmas trees." The spot  is also a Toy for Tots drop-off, and apparently is pretty popular:

"Due to the traffic the show creates, this year we are blocking off the cul-de-sac and ask that you park on the surrounding streets and walk in to see the show." - Reddit

Enjoy!
