Idaho authorities have charged a Boise man with two felonies after they say he checked his two young kids out of school and fled to the Nevada mountains, leaving a burnt-out vehicle and scattered personal belongings along the way, authorities said Tuesday.

Nevada's Eureka County Sheriff Keith Logan said 29-year-old Joshua Dundon was being held in Nevada for lack of $5 million bail.

This week marks the one-year anniversary of a multi-state AMBER Alert involving a kidnapped California teenager.

A family spokesman says the man killed during an FBI rescue of a 16-year-old girl in the Idaho wilderness had multiple bullet wounds in his chest and one in the side of the head.

Andrew Spanswick said Wednesday the body of 40-year-old James Lee DiMaggio was flown to Los Angeles. He says DiMaggio's sister, Lora, saw the bullet wounds before the body was cremated Tuesday. An autopsy report is expected Friday.

Federal authorities say the 16-year-old girl who was abducted last week and rescued in Idaho has returned to California with her father.

FBI spokesman Jason Pack says Hannah Anderson was reunited with her father, Brett Anderson, on Sunday at a hospital in Boise.

Almost from the moment he laid eyes on 16-year-old Hannah Anderson and her abductor, James Lee DiMaggio, former Idaho county sheriff Mark John was swept with the feeling that something just didn't seem right about the pair.

Initially it was the lack of openness on the trail, a reluctance to engage in the polite exchange of banter or adventures like so many other recreationists John has encountered during his various horseback excursions into Idaho's rugged backcountry.

The manhunt for suspected kidnapper and murderer James Lee DiMaggio ended in Idaho's rugged Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness Area Saturday afternoon after he was shot and killed by an FBI tactical agent. Sixteen-year-old Hannah Anderson is safe and will likely be reunited with family members by Sunday morning.

San Diego Sheriff Bill Gore says DiMaggio was shot during an arrest attempt at 5:22 PM MT.

Gore says Anderson is being taken to a hospital before being interviewed by detectives, and says of Anderson, "she appears to be in pretty good shape."

The search for 16-year-old Hannah Anderson and her suspected abductor, 40-year-old James Lee DiMaggio, has spanned three states and thousands of miles.

But now that law enforcement officers are at their closest yet to finding the pair, they face perhaps the most challenging search area of all.
