The head of the Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce says lining up daily, non-stop flights to a major East Coast hub is now the local business community's top priority.

The airport has again applied for a federal grant that, if successful, would be used to help cover costs for an airline if the route proves to be initially unprofitable. The city applied for a similar grant last year but was unsuccessful.

Update: Fire Sparks Evacuations Near Atlanta

Evacuations remain in place this morning for people living in Rocky Bar, Dutch Creek and Swanholm. That's due to the Trinity Ridge fire which is now at more than 23,000 acres. At eight percent containment, 406 people are working to build new fire line today.

Atlanta Gold Company Fined By Judge

A U.S. District Judge handed down a penalty today and issued a warning to a company trying to mine gold in Idaho.

U.S. District Judge Mikell Williams has ordered Atlanta Gold Company to pay $2-million dollars in fines for not following clean water laws. Judge Williams also ordered it to comply with the federal Clean Water Act by the end of October or face even more penalties.
