Some podcasts are just that - digital downloads. While others, strive for something more. "Welcome To Night Vale" is a popular storytelling podcast that also tours as a live show. On Tuesday the podcast returns to the Egyptian Theater in Boise for a stage performance and live taping.

On Wednesday, singer-songwriter Steve Earle returns to Boise, playing a concert at the Egyptian Theater. The Grammy Award-winning musician has released 18 studio albums.

Rock and roll superstar Melissa Etheridge is getting set to bring her 'Memphis Rock And Soul' tour to Boise's Egyptian Theatre Tuesday, August 8. Prior to her trip to the Gem State, Etheridge sits down with Weekend Edition host George Prentice to talk about her music, inspiration and unique perspective as she tours every corner of the U.S. this summer.

"Boise always loves its rock and roll and it's always a good time," Etheridge says.

Over the weekend, Idaho filmmaking teams were given 48 hours to put together a short film for the 14th annual i48 film competition and festival.

The statewide film competition and festival is an annual event that brings together teams of filmmakers of all levels. Founder of i-48, Andrew Ellis, channeled his passion for film into creating this timed event in 2004.

In recent years, locally organized TEDx events have been produced around the country.  Saturday TEDx Boise returns for its second year. All afternoon and into the evening notable Idaho residents will give talks on stage at the Egyptian Theater.
