As luck would have it, many of the small towns scattered across Idaho in the path of totality for this Monday’s solar eclipse are only accessible by small, two-lane roads. We’ve got some tips for those driving to watch day turn to night.

Repairs to a heavily worn section of Interstate 84 in the Treasure Valley will get underway soon.

The Idaho Transportation Department will start repairing and resurfacing the pothole-pocked pavement between Nampa and Caldwell this summer. During four weekends all I-84 traffic will be moved to one side of the interstate while crews work to rebuild the opposite side.

The Idaho Transportation Department says it's going to re-pave a section of Interstate 84 between Nampa and Caldwell this summer instead of next year.

Specifically, ITD is looking to refurbish the section between Franklin Boulevard in Nampa and Franklin Road in Caldwell during the warmer months.

A new program to spray along Interstate 84 ahead of wildfire season is aimed at reducing fires and costs.

Last year, 16 fires started along I-84 between milepost 60 and 110.  Those fires burned more than 5,000 acres. The Bureau of Land Management spent more than $280,000 to fight them.  That doesn’t include what other agencies spent helping to put those fires out.
